Our internal shutters are available in four materials – Timber, Painted (in a range of colours and timber look), the more common white/cream PVC (polymer) look and aluminium.
Timber shutters are from sustainable and replaceable timbers. Comparatively more expensive, lightweight but limited warranties for both timber stained and real timber.
The PVC (composite or Polymer) or sometimes commonly called plantation shutters are moisture and humidity resistant, making them an ideal choice for wet areas.
They are also fire retardant, termite resistant, do not support bacteria and provide 70% more insulation benefits than timber. Plus are hypoallergenic and are no chemicals needed: easy to clean.
All PVC shutters are designed with an aluminium core insert in the blades and frames to prevent sagging and distortion, ensuring their longevity and durability often with a 20year structural warranty.
Aluminium shutters are much more robust and can satisfy internal and external requirements. They are especially useful for high traffic areas like exits to decks or patios. Do not use PVC or timber for these purposes.
All shutters have a hidden rear tilt mechanism to control the blades, our internal shutters allow you to control the level of light, view, privacy, and temperature in your space.
The 63mm blades are usually proportionate for the smaller windows of the timber colonial homes. Whereas the 89mm blades are more suitable for bigger expansive windows of brick and commercial homes and buildings.
